KORMUS | General site FAQs

1. Can anyone join Kormus?
Answer:
Only assured and secure tenants living in the UK social housing sector can register to join this site.

2. Will i have to pay?
Answer:
No at the moment this is a free advertising service.

3. Can i search the properties without joining?
Answer:
Yes you can though you will not be able to contact the advertiser unless you register and advertise your own property.

4. When i join Kormus, who can view my details?
Answer: Registered users will be able to view your full advert, including your address if you have choosen to display it. The administration team have access to your full details, though will never pass your details to other members or third parties unless required to do so at the request of the landlord or the police.

5. Can i add photographs of my property?
Answer: Yes you can add photographs of your home only, do not include photographs of your family members, your house/flat door number, property name or car registration number for your own security. The administration reserve the right to remove any unsuitable photographs.

6. Will i have to provide my UK address and postcode when registering?
Answer: Yes you will, though you can decide whether to display you address or not, on your mutual home swap advertisment

KORMUS | Registered user FAQs

1. How do i add my exchange advert?
Answer:Register, add your basic profile
in your kormus user control panel , then click on add advert which can be found in your kormus user control panel , fill out the advertising form supplied and add a photograph of your property.

2. Can i have more than one advert?
Answer:No free tenant membership is restricted to one homeswap advert.

3. Can i edit my existing advert?
Answer:Yes go to your user control panel and click on edit advert or the pencil icon.

4. Why is the map location not accurate?
Answer: The map location is not accurate to provide members with some online safety and hide their exact address. If you wish to provide another tenants with your exact postcode location please send them a message so they can use an alternative online mapping system.

5. How do i search for other exchanges?
Answer: Use the search button at the top of the site. You have two options use the mapping system and click on the map for locations you require, or use the regional area search which is split into counties.

6. How do i contact other advertisers?
Answer:Use the Personal Messages (PM) button at the top of the members advert on the right hand side.

7. Can i change my username?
Answer: No, once you have decided on a username you will need to keep it, alternatively you can delete the account and make up a new account.

8. Can i change my password?
Answer: Not normall, though there is a way round this by clicking on forgot password , request a token to be sent to the registration email address so you can choose a new password!

9. How do i delete my advert and account?
Answer: Go to your user panel/edit advert page and you will see a dustbin icon next to your advert click to delete the advert, then leave a message in the support ticket system to request your account to be deleted.

10. I can not find the question and answer i am looking for?
Answer:
Please contact the administrators of Kormus by using the support ticket system and ask your question.

1. How do i contact an administrator?
Answer: Use Support ticket system to make a general enquiry.

2. How do i make a complaint?
Answer: Use the support ticket system to report site abuse.

3. What do i do if a registered user is harrassing me?
Answer: Kormus will not be involved in any online disputes. Kormus suggests you Ignore the member and do not reply to them, if you know who their landlord is you may want to speak to them.

4. What do i do if registered user is slanderous towards me?
Answer: Kormus will not be involved in any online disputes and recommend you speak with your landlord and involve the police.

5. What can i do if a registered user refuses to complete an agreed home swap?
Answer: Unfortunately there is nothing you can do, as there is no legally binding contracts to complete a homeswap. We suggest that you do not sell unwanted furnishings, carpets etc until the final few days before the move and only after checking with the other parties that they still wish to swap. Contact the landlords involved asap and inform them of the changes.

6. What do i do if someone is offering me incentives to exchange?
Answer: It is illegal for you to offer and receive goods and money you could be liable to eviction and or receive a fine. It is the tenants decision on what to do though Kormus recomends you never use incentives to secure and exchange.

Answer: Please contact the administrators of Kormus by using the support ticket system and ask your question.
